High school football players and coaches met the Fathers Behind Bars participants, thanking them for donated over $8,000 to football team.

The Correctional Training Facility Fathers Behind Bars program raised $8,186 for the Alisal High School football team.

The funds will help the team purchase new equipment, uniforms, and cover travel expenses for away games and tournaments.

To show their appreciation, members of the Alisal football team’s coaching staff and players visited the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad. There, they thanked members of the Fathers Behind Bars program and the staff.

During the check presentation, the incarcerated individuals shared their motivation, explaining their desire to give back to the community. The Fathers Behind Bars members also expressed their appreciation to the Alisal team and coaches for making the effort to attend the presentation at the prison.

“This fundraiser not only aids the community but plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process of our population,” said acting Warden Edward J. Borla. “Seeing the players and coaches here, acknowledging their efforts, instills a sense of pride and responsibility in them. The hard work of our staff, who volunteered their time, is commendable and reflects the positive culture we strive to build here.”

Since June 2023, the Fathers Behind Bars Program has donated over $73,000 to local schools and charities. Their ongoing efforts demonstrate a commitment to rehabilitation through community service.
