Nick Gamble, a retired correctional officer with 27 years of service, passed away Feb. 26, 2024.
Gamble began his career as a cadet at the academy in April 1988.
After graduating in May 1988, he reported for duty at California Correctional Institution, Tehachapi.
He later transferred to California Institution for Men, where he remained until retiring in 2015.
“He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and working side by side with him. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Services will be held from 1 to 6 pm, April 13, at Percy Baker Community Center, 9333 E Ave., Hesperia.
