Officer David Kroger passes away

Correctional Officer David Kroger passed away March 18, 2024.

He began his state career with the Department of State Hospitals as a Psychiatric Technician trainee in October 1985. He then became a Psychiatric Technician in April 1988.

A decade later, Kroger continued his career at California Medical Facility, promoting to Medical Technical Assistant in October 2001.

Finally, Kroger became a Correctional Officer at California Medical Facility in April 2020, where he remained until his passing.

“David will be greatly missed by all who knew him and worked with him over the past years,” according to a statement issued by the institution.

Funeral services will be held May 10 at 1 pm at River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule Street in West Sacramento.
