Parole agents in San Bernardino are helping supervised people and their families through community partnerships.
The San Bernardino Children’s Fund hosted its third annual Family Fair with the Cal State San Bernardino Reentry Initiative.
Watch the video (story continues below):
The fair provides supervised persons, their families, and low-income families with food, clothing, school supplies, and household assistance as well as childcare, education, and employment resources.
The Sept. 21 event hosted over 300 families and featured a barbecue hosted by San Bernardino firefighters and face painting for children.
Parole agents from the San Bernardino Division of Adult Parole Operations invited supervised persons and their families to the event. They also assisted families in gathering the items they needed and loading their cars.
The Reentry Initiative’s mission is to ensure the successful reintegration of supervised persons utilizing highly qualified community partners to provide programming such as GED, substance use disorder education/counseling, 52-week batterer’s intervention, community navigation, and provision of snacks and transitional housing.
The Reentry Initiative partners with San Bernardino parole agents to provide them with the space for a Day Reporting Center. The initiative also connects supervised persons with resources to help them be successful.
