On Thursday, February 20, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m. at Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP), a correctional officer was injured when an incarcerated person in the Restricted Housing Unit attacked him with an improvised weapon while being escorted to his cell.
The officer suffered a puncture wound to his lip, requiring stitches and is OK at this time.
The incarcerated person has been transferred to California State Prison, Sacramento.
We are grateful for the officer’s wellbeing. Such acts of violence toward our staff will not be tolerated. We are committed to holding the person responsible accountable and will take all necessary steps.
