Officers injured in attack at California Medical Facility

California Medical Facility (CMF) Safety and Security Update for staff, officer injured in attack, incident or riot.

Three correctional officers at California Medical Facility in Vacaville were injured in an attack by an incarcerated person on Friday, April 4.

An incarcerated person attacked the officers with an improvised weapon while they were conducting an emergency cell extraction.

All three officers were taken to an outside medical facility for a higher level of care. They were released later and are OK.

The incarcerated person was taken to an outside medical facility for further treatment. He will be transferred to another institution upon his release from the outside medical facility.

Such acts of violence toward staff will not be tolerated. We are committed to holding those responsible accountable
