CCHCS and CDCR recently held a health fair at the Elk Grove Headquarters, organized by the Statewide Patient Safety and Quality Management (QM) programs.

The event aimed to raise awareness of staff’s role in patient safety. Putting it on required a collaboration with:

  • QM Performance Evaluation Team, Field Support Team, and Lean Office
  • Dental Services
  • and Division of Adult Institutions

“Our goal was to highlight headquarters staff’s contributions to patient safety,” said Sarah Aston, Patient Safety Program Manager. “While Patient Safety Week is recognized at our institutions, we wanted to ensure staff here understand their impact.”

The interactive event featured informational booths, activities, and food. It also provided an opportunity for staff to connect while learning about essential work being done to ensure safety for patients and staff.

“From process improvements to clinical initiatives to resource management, the work here is essential for maintaining safety across all institutions,” said Aston.

“Thanks to all the staff who helped make the event a success. (They) created an informative and enjoyable experience for everyone involved,” organizers said.
