Alexander Martinez, retired correctional officer

Ironwood State Prison on May 28 reported the passing of retired Correctional Officer Alexander Martinez. He worked at the institution from 1996 until retiring in 2021.

Alexander Martinez

Martinez began his career with CDCR in February 1996. After graduating from the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center, he reported to Ironwood State Prison in Blythe in April. He remained at Ironwood for the duration of his career. Martinez retired in July 2021.

“Alex was a dedicated officer and was greatly loved by all his partners, friends, family, and all those who knew him. Our deepest condolences are extended to Alex’s family during this difficult time,” according to Ironwood State Prison
