The Calipatria State Prison outdoor soccer team, Los Rebelz FC, took gold in the 2025 US Police and Fire Championships in San Diego.
The gold-winning Calipatria soccer team included staff from Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD), California State Prison, Los Angeles County, (LAC) and staff from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The US Police and Fire Championships was held in San Diego May 31-June 7.

Other gold winners include Team San Quentin in 3×3 basketball. Members include Chauncey Weston, San Quentin Rehabilitation Center (SQ); Alex Samuel, RJD; Marcus Carter, SQ; Marche Manning, SQ; John Edmond, SQ; Asim Mahmood, SQ; and David Garcia, California State Prison-Solano. >> Read the previously published story.

Meanwhile, the Ironwood State Prison (ISP) soccer team took home the gold during the US Police and Fire Championships in San Diego.
