Richard Anti, a retired correctional administrator, passed away July 11, 2025. He worked for the department from 1992 until he retired in 2017.

Anti was a military veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy beginning in 1972. This was followed by serving in the Navy Reserve until he retired in 1999. While in the military, he advanced to the rank of chief hospital corpsman.
In 1992, he joined CDCR as a medical assistant at Calipatria State Prison. He then promoted to correctional counselor in 1995 and sergeant in 1999.
He continued promoting through the ranks, becoming a lieutenant in 2001 and captain in 2006. Anti later promoted to correctional administrator in 2008 at Ironwood State Prison and as chief deputy warden at California City Correctional Facility. He retired from California Correctional Institution in November 2017.
Anti is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, stepson, and stepdaughter as well as a brother. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Services were held July 29 at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin.
“California Correctional Institution extends our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Richard’s family, colleagues, and friends. He will be remembered and missed by many,” according to the institution.
