Kern Valley State Prison recently held a promotion ceremony to acknowledge 15 staff for their career accomplishments.
The ceremony honored the promotion of:
- four lieutenants
- four sergeants
- two correctional counselor II (CCII) supervisors, a CCII specialist, and a CCII
- an associate governmental program analyst
- personnel specialist
- and a materials and stores supervisor.

The ceremony included speeches from the warden, associate warden, and representatives from California Correctional Supervisors’ Organization a California Correctional Peace Officers Association.

Kern Valley’s Honor Guard presented colors while another staff member sang the National Anthem.
Staff honored during the ceremony invited their families to attend. Those being honored also received a certificate of achievement acknowledging the promotion as well as words of encouragement for their next step within CDCR.
After the ceremony, staff and their families celebrated with dessert and complimentary photos with their family.
