Leaders and staff from CDCR and CCCHS Region III held a fundraiser benefiting a local Alzheimer’s support group.
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, Region III staff presented a donation to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County in Bakersfield.
Among those presenting the check were the Division of Adult Institutions (DAI) Region III Associate Director (AD) Bryan Phillips, and CCHCS Region III Health Care Executive Michael Whittaker along with staff.
The group specializes in adult day care services, support groups, and educational classes for Alzheimer’s clients and caregivers. As a social model program and non-profit, donations and volunteer work are vital to supporting the group’s mission.
“We are proud to support and partner with this great organization who provides so much for Kern County area residents and their families affected by Alzheimer’s and other debilitating dementia-related illnesses,” said Region III organizers.
AD Phillips and Regional Health Care Executive Whittaker thanked the group’s management team for providing Region III staff with a tour of their Bakersfield facility. Region III staff learned about the day-to-day operations and services provided to the community.
“Region III looks forward to a continued partnership with the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County and other local organizations providing invaluable services to those in need,” said organizers.
