Brian Snider, a retired correctional counselor II supervisor, passed away Jan. 23, 2026.
He worked for the department for 23 years before retiring in 2017, all of it at California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi. After retiring, he relocated to Idaho.
Snider began his career with the department as a correctional officer in October 1994 at CCI in Tehachapi.
He promoted to correctional counselor in September 1998. Snider then promoted to correctional counselor II supervisor in March 2005.
Snider worked his entire career at the institution until retiring in November 2017.
“CCI extends our very deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Brian’s family, co-workers, and friends. He will be missed by many,” according to the institution.
