Operation Town Business, a multi-agency parole compliance and enforcement operation in Oakland led by the Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO), resulted in the apprehension of a supervised person at-large, 16 arrests for parole and law violations, and the recovery of weapons, stolen vehicles and illicit substances.

During the July 30 operation, DAPO agents, in coordination with federal, state and local law enforcement partners, worked to contact supervised persons and supervised persons at-large to monitor compliance and, as needed, bring them back into compliance with the conditions of their parole.
“The mission of this multi-agency operation was to enhance public safety by promoting parole compliance and apprehending supervised persons at large,” said DAPO Director Bryan Bishop. “On a daily basis, DAPO is in the communities to keep supervised people compliant and provide them with needed resources for successful reintegration.”
Individuals on parole are required to adhere to special conditions of parole including obeying the law, refraining from firearm possession or other weapons and regularly reporting to their parole agent. Those found in violation of parole face possible revocation of parole or new criminal charges in relation to parole violations.
The safety of the public, participating personnel, and supervised persons remained the highest priority throughout the operation. There were no injuries or uses of force related to the operation.

- 21 compliance searches conducted
- 15 supervised persons contacted
- 12 parole violations
- 4 new law violations
- 1 supervised person-at-large apprehended
- 2 stolen vehicles recovered

- Over 100 rounds of ammunition seized
- 15 knives seized

- 3 ounces of ketamine
- 1 gram of MDMA
- 1 ounce of liquefied heroin
