Brandon Seitz, a correctional sergeant at High Desert State Prison in Susanville, passed away Sept. 3, 2026.
Seitz began his career with the department in November 2008, graduating the academy and then reporting to California State Prison, Los Angeles County in Lancaster as a correctional officer.
He transferred to High Desert State Prison in July 2012, where he promoted to correctional sergeant in June 2015.
Seitz remained at High Desert State Prison until his passing.
“Our deepest condolences are extended to his family and friends during this difficult time,” according to the institution.
