Parole Professional of the Year

2021 DAPO Professional of the Year

The Division of Adult Parole Operations Professional of the Year is given annually to the person or persons who work to successfully reintegrate individuals to their communities by helping them be drug-free, healthy, and employable members of society, all in a safe and humane environment.

Recipient:

Jon Stern, Chief Deputy Regional Administrator in the Division of Adult Parole Operations

Mr. Stern has been instrumental in successfully leading special projects that have been critical to the success and future of the division and department.

He has played a primary role in the development and implementation of the Earned Discharge process, the agent tracking functions in Tableau, the introduction of Family Systems Theory, and the Principled Policing in DAPO’s training regimen.

Mr. Stern has also been instrumental in building DAPO’s Peer Re-entry Navigator Networks program, which brings together successful long-term ex-offenders with newly-released ex-offenders to help transition them back into the community.

He does all this while also serving as an adjunct professor teaching courses in criminal justice, psychology, and community re-entry.

His continued dedication to the fundamental mission, values and goals of the Department and Division deserve recognition for a job incredibly well done.
