SAN QUENTIN – David Reed, 60, who had been on California’s death row since 2011, died on July 7, 2020, at an outside hospital from what appears to be complications related to COVID-19. An exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
Reed was sentenced on Oct. 31, 2011, in Riverside County for first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon and was admitted onto death row on Nov. 16, 2011.
There are currently 720 people on California’s death row.
