Condemned Inmate Jeffrey Hawkins Dies

SAN QUENTIN – Jeffrey J. Hawkins, 64, was pronounced deceased on July 15, 2020, at an outside hospital from what appear to be complications related to COVID-19. An exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

Hawkins was committed to CDCR on Feb. 9, 1990, as a condemned inmate from Sacramento County for two counts of first-degree murder with use of a firearm, and attempted first-degree murder with use of a firearm inflicting great bodily injury.
