Condemned Inmate Dean Dunlap Dies

SAN QUENTIN – San Bernardino County officials notified San Quentin State Prison that condemned inmate Dean E. Dunlap was pronounced deceased July 29 at an outside hospital. Dunlap had been in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on out-to-court status since Nov. 8, 2016. The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Department will determine Dunlap’s cause of death.

Dunlap, 61, was sentenced to death in San Bernardino County on April 14, 2006, for first-degree murder and was admitted onto California’s death row April 24, 2006.
