Condemned Inmate Louis Peoples Dies

SAN QUENTIN – Condemned inmate Louis Peoples was pronounced deceased on Jan. 24 at approximately 4:15 a.m. after being found unresponsive in his cell at San Quentin State Prison. The Marin County Coroner’s Office will determine Peoples’ cause of death.

Peoples, 58, was sentenced to death in Alameda County on Aug. 4, 2000, for three counts of first-degree murder with the use of a firearm. He had been on death row since Aug. 4, 2000.
