Man Who Walked Away From Minimum‑Security Facility at Folsom State Prison Apprehended

FOLSOM – California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) officials announced an incarcerated person who walked away from the minimum-security facility at Folsom State Prison (FSP) this morning has been apprehended.

At approximately 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 15, 2023, the Folsom Police Department took 22-year-old Zionarrow A. Taylor into custody without incident in the city of Folsom. He has been taken back to FSP where he is being returned to CDCR custody. He will be rehoused in a higher security area at FSP and his case will be referred to the Sacramento County District Attorney for consideration of escape charges.

Taylor was received from Fresno County on Oct. 3, 2023. He was sentenced to two years for second-degree robbery.

Since 1977, 99 percent of all people who have left an adult institution, camp, or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.
