Condemned Person Richard D. Turner Dies

SAN QUENTIN – Condemned person Richard D. Turner passed away at an outside medical facility on Saturday, March 23, 2024, while incarcerated at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center. He was 65 years old.

Turner was pronounced deceased by medical staff at 3:45 a.m. with a manner of death identified as natural causes. The Marin County Coroner’s Office will determine his official cause of death.

Turner was admitted to CDCR on April 16, 1980, from San Bernardino County to serve life without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder. While incarcerated, on Oct. 19, 1988, he was placed on condemned status for another conviction of first-degree murder.
