CDCR Seeking Incarcerated Person Who Walked Away from Los Angeles County Female Community Reentry Program

LOS ANGELES – California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) officials are seeking a person who walked away from the Female Community Reentry Program (FCRP) in Los Angeles on June 13, 2024.

At approximately 4 p.m., staff were alerted that incarcerated person Erica N. Ybarra, 37, had walked out of the FCRP facility. They immediately launched a search and conducted an emergency count. Ybarra’s removed ankle monitor was found near the facility. CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety and local law enforcement agencies have been notified and are assisting in the search.

Ybarra is 5’4″ tall, weighs approximately 175 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt and white shoes.

Ybarra was received from Los Angeles County on Jan. 9, 2024, sentenced to two years for second-degree robbery. She has been housed at FCRP-Los Angeles since May 15, 2024.

Anyone who sees Ybarra or has knowledge of her whereabouts should contact law enforcement or call 9-1-1.

The FCRP allows eligible offenders committed to state prison to serve the end of their sentences in the reentry center and provides them the programs and tools necessary to transition from custody to the community. It is a voluntary program for female offenders who have two years or less left to serve. The program links offenders to a range of community-based rehabilitative services that assist with substance use disorders, mental health care, medical care, employment, education, housing, family reunification and social support.

Since 1977, 99 percent of all people who have left an adult institution, camp, or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.
