SAN QUENTIN – Arthur H. Halvorsen, who was serving a condemned sentence at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, died of natural causes on Aug. 3, 2024. He was 82.
Halvorsen was pronounced decease by medical staff at 8 p.m. The Office of the Inspector General was notified, and the Marin County Coroner’s Office will determine his official cause of death.
Halvorsen was sentenced in Los Angeles County on Nov. 18, 1988, for killing of Vicente Perez and Calvin Ferguson during a drunken shooting spree that injured two others.
He was admitted to San Quentin’s death row on Nov 28,1988, to condemned and life without the possibility of parole for two counts first-degree murder, use of a firearm; assault with a firearm, inflict great bodily injury, and second-degree attempted murder, inflict great bodily harm.
