California Correctional Institution currently offers All-day visiting (see below for hours). You must schedule utilizing the (VSA) at https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app scheduling application. Requests sent via email will not be reviewed. The request period begins eight days before the visitation day and at 06:30 a.m.

In-Person Visitation

Fridays: 12:15 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. Processing ends at 5:45 p.m.

Saturdays, Sundays and Designated holidays: 8:15 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. Processing ends at 1:45 p.m.

Walk-in Visitation Instructions

Upon the start of visiting hours, walk-in visits will be processed first come first serve; based on availability but are not guaranteed. Upon arrival onto institutional grounds, visitors will sign up for walk-in visits. Processing times will remain the same.

Arrive within 30 minutes of your scheduled appointment time. After the grace period you will be considered a walk-in if you are late to your appointment, you will be considered a Walk-In.

CCI Appropriate Attire Guidelines Below:

It is recommended that visitors dress conservatively and with the following guidelines in mind. Inappropriate attire will be reason to deny a visit. Any alteration to clothing once a visitor is inside the visiting area will be grounds for termination of the visit. All rules and regulations apply to minors over 36inches in height. Top and Bottom color combinations are given as examples. This is not to state that this is the only way you are not allowed to wear the colors.

Prohibited Attire:

  • Clothing or accessories displaying obscene or offensive language, artwork, or objects
  • Clothing which, in any combination of shades or types of material/fabric, resembles California State-Issued inmate clothing, blue denim or chambray shirts and blue denim pants/jackets.
  • Clothing that resembles custodial staff (CDCR Officers); Tan shirt with green pants; Green top or bottoms
  • Orange top with orange bottoms, or jumpsuits
  • White shirts with white bottoms, or jumpsuits
  • Camouflage (unless identification shows active or reserve military personnel)
  • Rips, Tears, Holes in jeans (regardless of skin exposure or not)
  • Clothing that exposes the breast, genitalia, or buttocks area
  • Excessively tight/form fitting attire (ex: leggings/yoga pants)
  • Low cut or see-through attire
  • Crop-tops/Clothing that shows any midriff (without having to adjust the attire/high waisted bottoms)
  • Strapless, halter, sheer, “spaghetti” strap, or transparent clothing; straps must be the width of an ID card on the smallest portion of the strap (3 inches wide)
  • Dresses, skirts, pants, and shorts exposing more than two inches above the knee, including slits when standing (without being adjusted)
  • Clothing that resembles staff (CDCR medical staff), scrubs

Prohibited Items:

  • Hats, beanies, gloves (except for medical reasons/with a doctor’s note) AND with prior approval from institution
  • Sunglasses (unless prescribed)
  • Wallets/Bags/Purses (unless clear/see-through)
  • Phones/Smart devices/Bluetooth capable devices
  • Wigs, hairpieces, extensions, or other headpieces (except for medical reasons/with a doctor’s note) AND with prior approval from institution
  • Shower shoes (i.e. slides: a type of sandal notable for their wide strap, which goes over the top of the foot)
  • Any hair accessories with metal (Claw clips, bobby pins, hair pins, etc.) 

Identification Required for Visiting

Adults

All adults must present identification when being processed to visit. Acceptable forms of identification must be valid and current (not expired) and include:

  • A driver’s license (from any state) with photo;
  • A Department of Motor Vehicle identification card (from any state) with photo;
  • An armed forces identification card with photo;
  • A United States Department of Justice Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) identification card;
  • A United States passport with photo or a foreign passport with photo; or
  • A photo identification issued by the Mexican Consulate.

Minors

Children under 18 years old are required to be accompanied by an adult who is an approved visitor. If the minor child(ren) is accompanied by his/her parent, the only paperwork necessary is a certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate. If the minor is accompanied by his/her legal guardian, a certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate and proof of legal guardianship is required. If the minor child(ren) is accompanied by someone other than his/her parent or legal guardian, in addition to the certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate, the adult must also bring a notarized written consent authorization form signed by the minor child(ren)’s parent or legal guardian expressly giving permission for the minor child(ren) to visit a prisoner. The written consent authorization form must include the name of the prisoner the minor child(ren) is allowed to visit, the name of the person who is authorized to bring the minor child(ren) into the prison, and the date(s) of the proposed visit(s). The notarization must be on the original written consent authorization form and cannot be attached to it. The written consent authorization form to bring in a minor child(ren) must be updated each year.
