Incarcerated People not currently resolved who live in Outbreak or Isolation units will not be allowed in-person or family visits due to Outbreak status or Isolation Status.
Incarcerated People currently in a CTQ unit and not under medical quarantine are allowed visiting as long as they are participating in the Test to Program.
Resolved incarcerated persons are allowed to program regardless of their housing unit.
Access to Institution Affected
CDCR urges those traveling to our institutions to plan ahead for a safe trip.
Before heading to an institution for an in-person visit, download the QuickMap app or visit https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ for up-to-the-minute information on road conditions, traffic, closures, chain control, and more.
If an institution must cancel visiting due to conditions such as weather, those with an appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand.
Visitation Information
VISITING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER
During inclement weather, visitors may bring umbrellas into the institution for their walk to New Visiting. The umbrellas are to be placed into New Visiting Foyer when not in use and must not enter the Visiting Room.
Umbrellas must consist of the following:
Compact — Collapsable — Clear — No Umbrella Tip (ferrule)
CDCR and CHCF are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage of the umbrella. After 72 hours, any umbrella left in the New Visiting Foyer will be properly disposed of per Institution procedures.
VISITING APPLICATION FORMS
Please return completed CDCR Form 106 Visiting Questionnaires to

Visiting Applications can take up to 30 working days to process and reasons for any delays over 30 days can be provided to the applicant upon request.
Visitors now have the option to have their commonly needed documents scanned.
Examples of these documents are birth certificates, marriage certificates, minor consent forms, domestic partnership forms and medical notes.

Friends Outside
Friends Outside is currently offering childcare for authorized visitors.
Below are the guidelines the visitor will review and sign when they register their child.
- The child must not be younger than 7 years old and not older than 18 years of age.
- The visitor must be the parent, guardian, or person legally responsible for the child.
- The visitor must agree to return for the child at the indicated time.
- The child must be picked up by the same person who signed them in.
- If the child becomes unhappy or disruptive, it is the privilege of the center to call the visiting room and request that the child be picked up by the person that signed them in as soon as possible.

Scheduling

To schedule visits with PIP (B Yard), MHCB, and MAX incarcerated person, visitors may use VSA and will need to get called for a scheduled time or can also request a visit through email –chcfvideovisiting@cdcr.ca.gov – or via telephone (209) 467-2664
The request period opens 8 days prior to the visitation day and closes 5 days prior to the visitation day.
The maximum number of visitors per incarcerated person is 5 unless you are scheduled for non-contact and contact booth, the maximum number of visitors per incarcerated person is 3.
Family Visiting (Overnight)
California Health Care Facility Visiting Department has now moved to Instacart. Instacart instructions will be included in the Family Visiting Packet. All visiting policies will remain in accordance with California Health Care Facility Department Operations Manual – Supplement Section 54020.33.16. The following items will be prohibited for purchase:
- Alcohol
- Non-alcoholic spirits
- Tobacco/tobacco products
- Non-food items
- Canned food and food items in glass containers

California Health Care Facility is not liable for Instacart order errors, damaged or missing items. All disputes with orders will need to be filed by the account holder directly with Instacart.
