If an institution must cancel visiting due to conditions such as weather, those with an appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand..
Visitation Information
54020.8 Visitor Application Procedure…
(a) All adult visitors shall be required to obtain the institution/facility’s approval before being permitted to visit, except as otherwise authorized in this Article. Visitor applicants shall complete and sign a CDCR Form 106, Visiting Questionnaire. In order to retain the status of APPROVED VISITOR, a new CDCR Form 106 shall be submitted whenever there is a change in the visitor’s address, telephone number, or arrest history or periodically upon request. The frequency of any periodic update initiated by the institution/facility shall be no more than once EVERY TWO YEARS. Additionally, IF A MINOR TURNS 18, he/she must apply as an adult.
A maximum of five (5) visitors per visit are permitted. The limit of five (5) approved visitors includes children of all ages. NON-CONTACT VISITS will have a maximum of three (3) visitors per visit.
Scheduled in-person or walk-in visitors who arrive between the 3:30pm and 5:00pm during Friday visitation periods will not be permitted to check in or enter the institution due to institutional count procedures.
Visitors arriving between 3:30pm and 5:00pm on Fridays may wait in the Friends Outside area located near the entrance of the institutional property. Visitation check-in procedures will resume at 5:00pm.
Appointments on Friday’s are from 1200pm-215pm and Saturday’s and Sunday’s they are from 845am to 1115am.
Walk in’s WILL NOT BE allowed in the gatehouse 30 minutes prior to the walk in time at 215pm on Friday’s and 1115am on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
Walk-in visitors WILL NOT BE processed for visiting if they arrive after 6:00pm on Fridays or after 2:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Minors
Children under 18 years old are required to be accompanied by an adult who is an approved visitor. If the minor child(ren) is accompanied by his/her parent, the only paperwork necessary is a certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate. If the minor is accompanied by his/her legal guardian, a certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate and proof of legal guardianship is required. If the minor child(ren) is accompanied by someone other than his/her parent or legal guardian, in addition to the certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate, the adult must also bring a notarized written consent authorization form signed by the minor child(ren)’s parent or legal guardian expressly giving permission for the minor child(ren) to visit a prisoner. The written consent authorization form must include the name of the Incarcerated Person, the minor child(ren) is allowed to visit, the name of the person who is authorized to bring the minor child(ren) into the prison, and the date(s) of the proposed visit(s). The notarization must be on the original written consent authorization form and cannot be attached to it. The written consent authorization form to bring in a minor child(ren) must be updated each year.

Some allowable visitor attire and items:
Hoodies may be worn, however THE HOOD MUST STAY DOWN during visiting.
- One pair of eyeglasses
- One handkerchief or a small package of tissues (no bandanas)
- Plain white t-shirts can be worn under dress shirts
- Two keys on a ring with no other attachments (one key may be an electronic car key)
- Clothing with sports team logos, without personalization
- One form of identification only
- Indian medicine bag upon inspection and approval
- Dresses worn two inches above the knee (front and back)..
- One comb and/or hairbrush (non-metallic, no pointed ends or detachable parts)
- Orange tops and bottoms, as long as not worn together
- ONE HUNDRED dollars per adult visitor and FIFTY dollars per minor visitor (coin or dollar bills only)
- One transparent coin purse, maximum of two compartments and size of 6×8 inches
- Leggings, as long as the top article (top or dress) covers the lower anatomical body features and are not sheer or transparent
If an Officer informs you that your clothing is unacceptable, but you feel that you have complied with the rules and your clothing is acceptable, you may request to speak with the Visiting Sergeant or Visiting Lieutenant. The Visiting Sergeant or Lieutenant will make the final decision whenever there is a dress code issue.
FAMILY VISTING
Starting Thursday, August 1, 2024, CMC will be implementing Instacart for the Family Visiting Fresh Food Program. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Family Visiting Coordinator/Officer at (805) 547-7900 x 7825 or via mail.
As of October 23, 2023, overnight family visitors for the MSF Facility will report to the East Facility Entrance Building between 12:00pm and 1:00pm for in-processing on the initial day of their overnight family visit. Overnight family visitors will be processed out of the institution at 10:00am on the final day of their overnight family visit.

54020.33.2 Inmate Applications for Family Visits
A maximum of six names can be submitted for approval on the application. A MAXIMUM of THREE APPROVED VISITORS ARE ALLOWED ON A FAMILY VISIT AT ONE TIME, excluding children less than 18 months of age.
