VISITING STATUS
PLEASE VISIT CDCR Visiting Guidelines – Prepare to Visit FOR ALLOWABLE ITEMS AND ATTIRE RESTRICTIONS.
Information received on any Solano State Prison Support or Family Groups on Facebook or other applications is not endorsed, affiliated, monitored or controlled by the State of California, Solano State Prison, or the Visiting Department.
Non-Contact Visiting – Be advised, the phones are not working at the moment, we are working fast as possible to get the non-contact phones working.
VISITATION INFORMATION
Regular In Person Scheduling is completed via the Visiting Scheduling App (VSA) for In-person visiting on Friday and Saturdays, and Sundays. Please visit https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app to schedule a visit.
Request period begins 8 days prior to the visit at 6am and closes 5 days prior at 1159pm. Any modification made to your appointment after the scheduling window closes that results in the visit being canceled will not be rescheduled. Appointment times reflect your processing time.
The visitor who scheduled the visit is the appointment holder and the one who needs to show up to the visit, any approved visitor that is added on the visit is a guest on the appointment holders visit. If the appointment holder does not arrive, any guest that was on the appointment will have to process as a walk-in. All visitors need to be on the original appointment.
If you do not have an appointment, you will need to obtain a WALK-IN PASS from staff.
You may only schedule one (1) visit per visiting day.
NO VISITORS WILL BE PERMITTED TO VISIT IF THEY DO NOT PASS THE METAL DETECTOR.
Do not wear any item that cannot be taken off and will not clear a metal detector (such as an underwire bra or clothing with metal buttons.)
Assigned seating: Seating will be assigned at the start of your visit, failure to sit in your assigned seating will result in termination of your visit. Seating changes can happen if the Visiting floor Officer requires you to relocate to a different table.
In-Person Visitation
Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. – 6:30pm processing stops
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. – 1:30pm processing stops
Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. – 1:30 pm processing stops
End of processing times are established per Solano Department Operations Manual – Visitor Processing times end ONE HOUR before the end of visiting.
WALK IN VISITATION
Walk-In Visits are accepted and processed on a first come first serve basis. Walk in visits are not guaranteed
Walk in passes for Friday are issued starting at 12:30 p.m. Walk-In Visits begin at 2:30 p.m.
Walk in passes for Saturday and Sunday are issued starting at 8:30 a.m. Walk-In Visits begin at 10:30 a.m.
Walk-In Visitation – Number Process
Walk-in visitation is available on a first come, first served basis and is subject to daily capacity limits.
How to Receive a Walk-In Number:
- Visitors must arrive in person to obtain a number and wait in a single file line under the awning on level II or level III visiting entrance.
- Numbers are issued in sequential order at the beginning
- Number will be issued to all adults even if they are seeing the same incarcerated person.
- Valid identification must be presented at the time the number is issued.
Important Guidelines:
- Visitors must be present to receive a number. Numbers will not be held or issued for individuals not in line.
- Once a number is received, visitors may wait in the designated area or vehicle.
- Numbers will be called in order. Visitors must be present when their number is called or may be skipped. please see the start times for walk in visitation.
- There is no holding places in line or saving numbers for others.
- All visitors are expected to follow staff instructions at all times.
Additional Information:
- All numbers may not be called based on visiting capacity.
- When capacity is reached, no additional walk-in numbers will be issued until visiting room can accommodate.
- Processing times may vary depending on institutional operations.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in denial of visitation for the day.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping ensure a safe and orderly visiting process.
Visitors will be allowed on grounds 30 minutes prior to scheduled appointment. If you are waiting under the awning prior to 30 minutes of visiting start time, you will be asked to wait at your vehicle.
While on institutional grounds ALL visitors must adhere to all institutional policies and procedures. PLEASE remain respectful and courteous to all. Disrespect towards staff will not be tolerated, your visit will be terminated for the day if disrespectful behavior occurs. Be advised, we do not allow cellphones in the waiting areas (under the awnings) or visiting. You will be asked to return to your vehicle to leave your cellphone. If you are in line for a walk in number, you will have to go to the back of the line. If you need to use your cellphone, please do so at your vehicle or at the Friends Outside Trailer.
If visiting staff observes misconduct or any violation of the visiting rules, visitors may be terminated for the day and under certain circumstances may be suspended. We appreciate your cooperation with following these rules.
Money exchange: You are not allowed to exchange money until you are inside to be processed. Exceptions are for Level II visiting.
CSP-SOL Friends Outside Trailer is open. If you have been dropped off at the institution and do not have a place to store items that cannot be brought into your visit, you may store them at the Friends Outside Trailer. CSP-Solano is not responsible for and will NOT hold your items for you if the Friends Outside Trailer is closed.

TERMINATIONS
When maximum capacity has been reached in the visiting room and in order to allow others to visit, it may be necessary to terminate the visits of those who have been visiting for the longest period of time. Scheduled visitation appointments are NOT an exception to termination.
Exceptions shall include, but are not limited to the following:
Excessive Distance: The visitor has traveled 250 miles or more and has not visited within the last 30 days.
Weddings: When an incarcerated person and the visitor’s marriage ceremony occurred on that day.
Infrequent Visits: When the visitor has not visited the incarcerated person in the last six months.
Disabled: A disabled visitor who must rely on special transportation to the institution/facility.
Family Emergencies: When death, serious illness or injury occurs to an inmate’s immediate family.
NON-CONTACT VISITATION “Behind glass”
All NON-CONTACT appointments are required to email SOLvideovisiting@cdcr.ca.gov for scheduling. You will receive a confirmation email in response to your request. Please bring the confirmation information to your appointment.
What to include in the email (all are required):
- Full name of incarcerated person
- CDCR Number of incarcerated person
- Approved visitor(s) full names(s)
- Date of birth of approved visitor(s)
- Valid identification type and number of visitor(s)
- Relationship to the incarcerated person
- Email address of visitor(s)
- Phone number of visitors(s)
No Walk-In visits will be allowed for non-contact visits
NON-CONTACT visiting allows for only 1 non-Contact visit per weekend, any 2nd/3rd visit made will be canceled. All Non-Contact Visits are 1 hour in length regardless of travel.
ACCESS TO INSTITUTION
CDCR urges those traveling to our institutions to plan ahead for a safe trip.

If an institution must cancel visiting, those with an appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand.
VISITOR PARKING IS LOCATED ON THE LEVEL II SIDE, GRAVEL OR MAIN PARKING LOTS, AND THE LEVEL III SIDE, LOWER AND GRAVEL PARKING LOTS. DO NOT PARK IN PARKING SPOTS THAT ARE MARKED AS ASSIGNED PARKING.
FAMILY VISITING INFORMATION
Please be advised that all Family Visiting Applications take approximately 8-10 weeks to be processed. All allowable items and menus for ordering through Instacart will be given to you in the initial family visiting application.

Please do not send emails asking if the institution has received your paperwork. If you have a confirmed family visiting date, you do not need to do anything else. The institution will not contact you regarding your family visit after your application is complete and you receive a date. Remember “NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!” Please include the name of the Incarcerated Person and CDCR # on emails.
ALLOWABLE VISITING ITEMS FOR INFANT’S AND TODDLERS
“Infant” means a child less than 12 months of age.
“Toddler” means a child 12 to 36 months of age.
- Six (6) factory sealed single serving packets of baby formula or four (4) transparent plastic baby bottles or cups that are empty or contain premixed formula, milk, almond milk, soy, or rice milk and or juice/water. A breast pump and associated supplies (refrigerated or frozen breastmilk).
- Six (6) non glass containers of baby food or snacks in factory sealed packaging.
- Two (2) plastic spoons.
- Ten (10) disposable diapers.
- One (1) factory sealed package of baby wipes.
- Three (3) changes of clothes
- Two (2) small blankets
- Two (2) pacifiers
- Three (3) burp cloths.
- One (1) tube of factory sealed diaper cream.
- A baby carrier or wrap
- A clear plastic diaper bag Two (2) non-battery-operated toys or (2) books and or 10 pages of homework or coloring pages
PROHIBITED ATTIRE
- Clothing that resembles law enforcement or military-type clothing, including raingear, when not legitimately worn by an individual on active duty or in an official capacity. Clothing that:
- Clothing that Exposes the breast/chest area, genitals, or buttocks.
- By design, manner worn, or due to the absence of, allows the anatomical detail of body parts or midriff to be clearly viewed.
- Clothing that is shear or transparent or excessively tight.
- Attire or accessories displaying obscene/offensive language, drawings, or objects.
- Head coverings, readily removable hair pieces, or gloves, with the exception of clear see-through rain gear for inclement weather.
- Any other clothing, garment, or accessory that when compared to the expressly specified standards above would warrant disapproval.
- Exceptions: Hats, wigs, gloves, or hairpieces are permitted with the prior written approval of the institution head or designee.
- Approval shall be based on verification of the visitor’s necessity to wear the hat, wig, gloves, or hairpiece.
- Approval of hats and gloves shall be based on weather conditions at the institution/facility.
- Approved hats, wigs, gloves, or hairpieces shall be inspected by visiting staff prior to the visit.
Minors
Children under 18 years old are required to be accompanied by an adult who is an approved visitor. If the minor child(ren) is accompanied by his/her parent, the only paperwork necessary is a certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate. If the minor is accompanied by his/her legal guardian, a certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate and proof of legal guardianship is required. If the minor child(ren) is accompanied by someone other than his/her parent or legal guardian, in addition to the certified copy of the minor child(ren)’s birth certificate, the adult must also bring a notarized written consent authorization form signed by the minor child(ren)’s parent or legal guardian expressly giving permission for the minor child(ren) to visit a prisoner. The written consent authorization form must include the name of the prisoner the minor child(ren) is allowed to visit, the name of the person who is authorized to bring the minor child(ren) into the prison, and the date(s) of the proposed visit(s). The notarization must be on the original written consent authorization form and cannot be attached to it. The written consent authorization form to bring in a minor child(ren) must be updated each year.
