Dear Visitor,
Please review the following information carefully prior to arriving at Centinela State Prison for your visit. All visitors are responsible for ensuring they meet the applicable visiting requirements and restrictions.

Upon arriving at the gray brick wall outside the Institution, visitors must remain in a line in their vehicles and wait for the Outside Patrol Sergeant, who will arrive in a state vehicle and direct visitors into the Institution for processing.
JEWELRY RESTRICTIONS – EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Effective immediately, the number of jewelry items permitted for visitors is limited to the following:
- Two (2) bracelets
- Two (2) rings
- Two (2) necklaces
- Two (2) charms
- Two (2) pairs of earrings (Not larger than 2″ inches long) For example hoop earrings cannot exceed 2in.
Spandex and biker shorts are not permitted.
NOTICE TO ALL VISITORS – ANIMALS LEFT IN VEHICLES
For the safety and well-being of all animals, visitors are reminded that animals may not be left unattended inside vehicles while visiting the institution.
Leaving an animal unattended in a vehicle may result in suspension of visiting privileges. Additionally, local law enforcement may be contacted if an animal is found unattended in a vehicle.
Please make appropriate arrangements for your pets prior to arriving for your visit. Do not leave animals unattended in your vehicle.

NON-CONTACT VISITS
- No Walk-in Visitors will be allowed for Non-Contact visits.
- Be advised that upon the maximum capacity of the visiting area being reached and to allow others to visit, it is necessary to terminate the visits of those persons who have been visiting for the longest period of time. Scheduled visitation appointments are not an exception to termination.
Restrictive Housing Unit (RHU) C6 and all Non-Contact visits must submit their request via email to: CENVideoVisiting@cdcr.ca.gov
Requests are accepted from Saturday at 0800 hours through Monday at 0800 hours.
C6 and all Non-Contact visits are limited to one (1) hour.
Exceptions shall include, but are not limited to the following:
Excessive Distance: The visitor has traveled 250 miles or more and has not visited within the last 30 days.
Weddings: When an inmate and the visitor’s marriage ceremony occurred on that day.
Disabled: A disabled visitor who must rely on special transportation to the institution/facility.
Family Emergencies: When death, serious illness or injury occurs to an inmate’s immediate family.
Infrequent Visits: When the visitor has not visited the inmate in the last six months
ACCESS TO THE INSTITUTION / ROAD CONDITIONS
CDCR urges those traveling to our institutions to plan ahead for a safe trip. Before heading to an institution for an in-person visit, download the QuickMap app or visit https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ for up-to-the-minute information on road conditions, traffic, closures, chain control, and more.
If an institution must cancel visiting due to conditions such as weather, those with an appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand.
Visitation Information
CEN currently offers in person visits (See hours below). You must schedule utilizing the (VSA) at https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app scheduling application. The request period begins eight days before the visitation day and closes five days before the visitation day. Schedule visits are afforded one hour grace period to arrive to their schedule appointment.
As a reminder, an original certified birth certificate must be presented by an adult accompanying a minor (18 years or younger) at all times, regardless of the child’s previous visits to CEN. Entry will be denied to visitors who do not possess a birth certificate. Additionally, adults are required to show a valid photo ID that is not expired in order to visit.
Please be advised that all legal documents, such as notarized documents, must be the original copies. There are no exceptions.
INFANT AND TODDLER ALLOWABLE ITEMS
For an infant less than 12 months of age or a toddler 12 to 36 months of age, the following items are permitted:
- A combination of six (6) factory-sealed, single-serving packets of baby formula or four (4) transparent plastic baby bottles or cups that are empty or contain premixed formula, milk, almond milk, soy milk, rice milk, lactose-free milk, juice, or water
- Breast pump and associated supplies
- Refrigerated or frozen breastmilk
- Six (6) non-glass containers of baby food or snacks in sealed packaging
- Two (2) plastic spoons
- Ten (10) disposable diapers
- One (1) sealed package of baby wipes
- Three (3) changes of clothing
- Two (2) small blankets
- Two (2) pacifiers
- Three (3) burp cloths
- Diaper cream
- Baby carrier or wrap
- One (1) clear plastic bag for all items

In-Person Visitation
Friday: 1145 hours – 1830 hours
- Overcrowding terminations begin at 1530 hours
- No visitors will be processed after 1730 hours
Saturday: 0815 hours – 1500 hours
- Overcrowding terminations begin at 1200 hours
- No visitors will be processed after 1400 hours
Sunday: 08:15 hours – 15:00 hours
- Overcrowding terminations begin at 1200 hours
- No visitors will be processed after 1400 hours
WALK-IN VISITATION
Walk-in visits are accepted and processed on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.
Friday: 1530 hours – 1730 hours
Saturday: 1200 hours – 1400 hours
Sunday: 1200 hours – 1400 hours
Walk-in visitors may arrive as early as the earliest scheduled appointment; however, they will be processed based on availability and within the applicable walk-in processing hours.
Visitor Center Services (Friends Outside Trailer) The Visitor Center Services (Friends Outside Trailer) offers transportation and attire services for visitors.
Non-approved visitors are not permitted to drop off or pick up visitors inside institutional grounds. Please contact the Visitor Center regarding transportation inside institutional grounds.
