Current Visiting Status

Facilities A, B, C (Buildings 1-4) & MSF are currently operating under normal programs.

Facility C (Buildings 6-8) are on a modified program. No visits.

Facility D on a modified program. No visits.

Children under 2 are allowed to visit. (REMINDER) Non-Contact visits must be scheduled. Walk-ins are NOT able to have Non-Contact visits.

THREE DAY IN PERSON VISITING IS IN EFFECT

Visiting is available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Access to Institution Affected

CDCR urges those traveling to our institutions to plan ahead for a safe trip.
Before heading to an institution for an in-person visit, download the QuickMaps app or visit https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/  for up-to-the-minute information on road conditions, traffic, closures, chain control, and more.
If an institution must cancel visiting due to conditions such as weather, those with an appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand.

Visitation Dates Affected

Facility C (Buildings 6-8) are on a modified program. No visits.

Facility D is on modified program. No visits.

Visitation Information

Visitors are only allowed on grounds no more than one (1) hour prior to their appointment or walk-in time. Walk-ins are allowed to park on grounds in the designated visitor parking area. Walk-in visits ARE NOT GURANTEED. KVSP Visiting Staff may allow a grace period of 15 minutes after appointment time. If past appointment time, you will be considered a walk-in visitation. All visits must now be made through GTL at Visit https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/. For further visiting questions refer to the CDCR website. KVSP has added additional vending machines in the visiting rooms. The photo program and Family Visiting are currently running.

Due to the state budget shortfall, effective June 30, 2024, the contract with Reunification Transportation Contract (TransMetro) will not be renewed.

Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 P.M. 

Sunday: 8:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.

Walk-in Visitation Instructions

Walk-in visitors are only allowed on grounds no more than one (1) hour prior to the Walk-In start time. Numbered passes will be distributed at the Gate House as visitors drive in. Passes will only be distributed for 1 hour at the Gate House after which Walk-In visitors can get a pass at the Visitor processing area. Walk-in visits ARE NOT GURANTEED. Walk-in visits will NOT be able to have Non-Contact visits. Walk-in times for Regular Contact visits are as follows:

Friday: 2:30 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. 

Saturday: 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.

Sunday: 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
