FACILITY C BUILDINGS 1-4 ARE BEING PLACED ON NO VISITS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. FACILITY C BUILDINGS 7 AND 8 ARE RUNNING NORMAL VISITS.
FACILITY D is being placed on NO VISITS until further notice.
FACILITIES A, B, C 7/8, AND PIP ARE RUNNING NORMAL VISITATIONS.
WALK-INS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ELIGIBLE INCARCERATED PERSONS. APPOINTMENTS ARE ONLY REQUIRED FOR NON-CONTACT VISITS. VISITORS MUST ARRIVE AN HOUR EARLY FOR NON-CONTACT VISITS.
All Facility C non-impacted Incarcerated Persons will resume normal visiting. The Facility C STG Bulldogs, STG New Flowers, STG Sureno, and STG Sureno Associates will begin visiting with alternating weekends and holidays, starting with the STG Bulldogs and STG New Flowers on April 11, 2025.
To successfully maintain a safe environment within the Facility C Visiting Room for the families and all other individuals within the visiting areas, there is a need to temporarily separate the visiting days for the Security Threat Group (STG) Bulldogs, STG New Flowers, STG Sureno, and STG Sureno Associates due to the recent violence in the Facility C Visiting.
This is subject to change due to institutional needs and/or as further intel is collected.
Get On The Bus (GOTB)
GOTB Event has concluded: Thank you to all the volunteers and participants. Check back for future GOTB Event dates.
Get On The Bus (GOTB) is an annual trip bringing children (minors and adults) and their guardians/caregivers from all over the state of California to visit their parent in prison. Transportation, photos, Lunch and Fun Activities are all provided for parents and children for FREE! Children receive a new backpack school supplies and teddy bear after visit.
Restrictions apply.
Salinas Valley State Prison will be closed for Visiting on August 2nd, 2025, for the GOTB Event. Regular Visiting will resume on Sunday August 3rd, 2025.
Friendly reminder, for non-contact appointments, visitors must arrive one (1) hour prior to the scheduled appointment. Dress conservatively and modestly, no excessively tight/form fitting clothing.

If an institution must cancel visiting due to conditions such as weather, those with an appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand.
Walk-in visits are permitted for those with contact visiting privileges. Non-contact visits require appointments. Please verify with the individual you are coming to visit their current visitation status ahead of time.

Visitation Information
A maximum of five (5) visitors per visit are permitted. The limit of five (5) approved visitors includes children of all ages.
A maximum of three (3) visitors per visit are permitted for non-contact visits. The limit of three (3) approved visitors includes children of all ages.
Due to limited number of non-contact booth’s available non-contact are by appointments only.
