VISITATION INFORMATION

Sierra Conservation Center currently offers 3 days of visiting (see below for hours). You must schedule utilizing the (VSA) at https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app scheduling application. Requests sent via email will not be reviewed. The request period begins eight days before the visitation day and closes five days before the visitation day.

Access to Institution Affected

  • CDCR urges those traveling to our institutions to plan ahead for a safe trip. Before heading to an institution for an in-person visit, download the QuickMap app or visit https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ for up-to-the-minute information on road conditions, traffic, closures, chain control, and more. If an institution must cancel visiting due to conditions such as weather, those with an appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand.

  • Online scheduling opens on Thursday 6:00 a.m. and closes Tuesday at midnight. Appointments will be for the weekend following the close of scheduling on Tuesday each week.

Regular Scheduling:

  • Visiting Scheduling is completed via the Visiting Scheduling App (VSA), for visits on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Non-Contact Scheduling:

  • NON-CONTACT Visits: MUST call to schedule appointment at (209) 984 -5291, ext.5232, Monday 8:00am – Tuesday 2:00pm.

In-Person Visitation

Friday: 12:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. 

Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Sundays: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

  • Visitors with appointments shall not be permitted on grounds more than 30 minutes prior to their appointment time.
  • If you arrive 15 or more minutes late to your appointment, you will be considered a walk-in visitor and processed as time allows.

Walk-in Visitation Instructions:

Friday: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00p.m.

Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Sunday: 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

  • Walk-In Visits are accepted and processed on a first come first serve basis and processed as time allows. Walk-In Visits are not guaranteed.
  • Walk-In Visitors are permitted to be on grounds no more than 30 minutes before walk-in processing begins. Walk-In Visitors will not be allowed on grounds after the times posted above.

Non-Contact Visits:

  • All Non-Contact Visitors must arrive 30 minutes prior to their non-contact appointment start time.
