In-Person Visitation for Valley State Prison (VSP) is in OPEN PHASE for all facilities

ATTENTION: Family visits have been suspended at this time due to unforeseen circumstances; we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Valley State Prison Family Visiting has no Family Visiting Units open at this time. We will update this website once units are complete with the remodeling process and ready to be opened.

CDCR urges those traveling to our institutions to plan ahead for a safe trip.
Before heading to an institution for an in-person visit, download the Quick Map app or
visit https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ for up-to-the-minute information on road conditions,
traffic, closures, chain control, and more.

If an institution must cancel visiting due to conditions such as weather, those with an
appointment will receive a notice through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). If
you plan on participating in a walk-in visit, please contact the institution beforehand.+

In-Person Visitation Hours

Friday: 11:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Sunday: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Valid picture identification is required for entry into the institution; any type of paper documents, are not an acceptable form of identification.

Facility Visitation Email

VSPVideoVisiting@cdcr.ca.gov for the following holidays (New Years, Fourth of July,
Thanksgiving, and Christmas) This email is primarily used to schedule on these
holiday’s if they fall outside of the regular In-Person Visiting days of Friday, Saturday,
and Sundays.

Walk-in Visitation Instructions

Walk-in visits are allowed during normal hours, space permitting.

Visitation Information

(In-Person Visiting) hours are Friday, 11:30am-6:00pm, Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am-3:00pm
In-person visits will be scheduled using GTL VSA System. All visits should be scheduled
the week prior to the desired to visit at ViaPath Visitor Web 8.0 (https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app)

For an In-Person visit on Friday scheduling will open Thursday @ 6am through Monday
11:59pm the week prior to the date of desired appt.

For an In-Person Visit on Saturday scheduling will open Friday @ 6am through Monday
11:59pm the week prior to the date of desired appt.

For an In-Person Visit on Sunday scheduling will open Saturday @ 6am through Tuesday
11:59pm the week prior to the date of desired appt.

Please note this is SUBJECT to CHANGE at any time. The Friends Outside trailer is
available for assistance for in-person visits. Upon the start of visiting hours, walk-in
visits will be processed first come first serve; based on availability but are not
guaranteed. Upon arrival onto institutional grounds, visitors must draw a pass number
for walk-in visits.

Visiting rooms have vending machines stocked with food and beverages for purchase by visitors ($100 per adult and $50 per minor)

In-Person Picnics

The VSP In-Person Picnic program is designed to reward positive programming and
provide opportunities that will assist incarcerated persons in creating a positive
atmosphere with an emphasis on normalization within our facility. This provides an
arena for successful reintegration with their family and loved ones. Any interested
Incarcerated Person who wishes to participate in this program will initiate the process
by submitting a request to the VSP visiting center.
