1. Complete or assist in the completion of Incident Reports (CDCR 837) to document any crimes or unusual occurrences within the institution (e.g., use of force, death of a person, major disturbance), using Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS), California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 15, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., as needed.
2. Complete or assist in the completion of Administrative Segregation Unit (ASU) Placement Notice (ICCT156) to place an inmate in segregated housing (Medical Unit, ASU, Contraband Surveillance Watch, etc.) using Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS), California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 15, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., as needed.
3. Ensure housing unit staff are conducting welfare checks to maintain the welfare of all inmates housed in Long Term Restricted Housing (LTRH), Short Term Restricted Housing (STRH), Administrative Segregation Unit (ASU), Psychiatric Services Unit (PSU) and Medical Unit using frequent tours, inspections, and Guard 1 System, on a daily basis.
4. Become certified and act as a Hearing Officer for Administrative Rules Violation Reports (RVR) in order to adjudicate RVRs using California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 15, etc., as needed.
5. Address inmate issues through the use of Request for Interview, Item, or Services (CDCR Form 22), Inmate Appeals (CDCR 602) and Reasonable Accommodation Request (CDCR 1824) regarding housing and programming concerns, etc., to resolve the inmate’s concerns at the lowest level using Departmental/local Operating Procedures, California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 15, Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS), etc., as needed.
6. Fill vacant posts and ensure coverage to fulfill operational needs using Workforce TeleStaff (WFTS), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) forms, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., on a daily basis.
7. Ensure Post Orders are current, completed, and signed to provide guidelines for staff accountability and knowledge of job functions using frequent tours, inspections, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., on a daily basis.
8. Ensure staff adhere to grooming standards, proper uniform wear, dress, etc. to maintain professional appearance within departmental guidelines, using frequent tours and inspections, Post Orders, CDCR Uniform Specification Handbook, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., on a daily basis.
9. Ensure staff have on their person or access to required safety equipment to maintain personal safety and institutional security in compliance with Departmental/local Operating Procedures using frequent tours and inspections, Post Orders, etc., on a daily basis.
10. 20. Report staff behavior (e.g., over-familiarity with inmates, introduction of contraband) to ensure institutional safety and security using personal observation, confidential information, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., as needed.
21. 46. Conduct medical emergency response drills with staff to ensure the safety of staff and inmates using Departmental/local Operating Procedures, medical emergency drill checklist, etc., as required.
47. Ensure staff follow proper universal precautions when administering first aid to maintain safety using the Blood Borne Pathogens protocol, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., as needed.
48. Ensure staff apply proper Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) practices and procedures for preservation of life using approved Departmental training as needed.
49. Preserve crime scene integrity by assigning staff to perform specific duties (e.g., secure the crime scene, photograph, collect evidence, prepare schematic/scribe, ensure chain of evidence) to ensure proper processing of the evidence and crime scene per Departmental/local Operating Procedures, local agreements, etc., as needed.

53. Ensure staff involved in any deadly use of force (to include a warning shot) be properly relieved for a Public Safety Statement in accordance with the UOF policy, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), etc., as needed.
54. Ensure inmates are treated within Departmental guidelines when applying policies and procedures to maintain institutional safety and security using good communication skills, court mandates, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 15, Penal Code (PC), etc., on a daily basis.
55. 56. Ensure staff maintain accurate housing rosters, bed designations (e.g., heat risk, Lower Bunk/Lower Tier, Developmentally Disabled Program, Disability Placement Program), and picture card files for each inmate in a housing unit to comply with court mandates using Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS), Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., on a daily basis.
57. Ensure when staff place an inmate in a holding cell they are compliant with the holding cell procedures for the safety and security of the inmate and institution, using holding cell log, Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., as needed.
58. Ensure staff maintain a suicide/precaution unit observation log (5 day follow up) upon an inmate’s release from a Mental Health Crisis Bed (MHCB) for their welfare, safety and security, using Departmental/local Operating Procedures, etc., as needed.
59.
