Task Statements:

1.Conduct complex and sensitive criminal and/or administrative investigative activities to gather facts/evidence, utilizing investigative techniques/methods, in compliance with current policy/law.

    2. Supervise complex and sensitive criminal and/or administrative investigative activities to gather facts/evidence, utilizing training and experience, in compliance with current policy/law.

    3. Manage complex and sensitive criminal and/or administrative investigative activities to gather facts/evidence, utilizing training and experience, in compliance with current policy/law.

    4. Supervise staff investigating allegations of administrative and criminal misconduct involving incarcerated persons, supervised persons, department personnel, and civilians to gather facts/evidence, utilizing training and experience, in compliance with current policy/law.

    5. Supervise the planning of law enforcement actions involving criminal suspects or administrative subjects to determine if a violation of law and/or policy exists, utilizing training and experience, in compliance with current policy/law.

    6. Supervise the coordination of law enforcement actions involving criminal suspects or administrative subjects to determine if a violation of law and/or policy exists, utilizing training and experience, in compliance with current policy/law.

    10. Supervise the interrogation/interviewing of individuals to gather facts/evidence, utilizing training and experience, in compliance with current policy/law.

    11. Confer with prosecutors in preparing cases for court, utilizing effective communication skills, as required by policy.

    12. Supervise the service of search warrants to seize evidence of criminal activity, utilizing resources/tactics (e.g., personnel, weapons, allied agencies, etc.), in compliance with current policy/law.

    13. Appear in criminal/administrative hearings as a witness to provide testimony, utilizing effective verbal communication, as required.

    14. Advise law enforcement agencies of significant activities within their jurisdiction to ensure public safety, utilizing effective communication (e.g., verbal, written, in-person, etc.), as needed.

    15. Consult with law enforcement agencies to promote collaboration, utilizing effective communication (e.g., verbal, written, in-person, etc.), as needed.

    16. Supervise the arrests of suspects to enforce laws, utilizing resources/tactics (e.g., personnel, weapons, allied agencies, etc.), in compliance with current policy/law.

    17. Supervise the gathering of intelligence data to further criminal/administrative investigations, utilizing training and experience, in compliance with current policy/law.

    18. Provide training and technical assistance in the latest law enforcement and investigative techniques to departmental staff and/or law enforcement agencies, to promote consistency, utilizing effective communication (e.g., written, verbal, practical application, etc.), as mandated by policy/law.

    19. Serve in special assignments to support the Department’s mission, utilizing skills obtained from training and experience, as directed.

    20. Make public presentations to support the Department’s mission, utilizing skills obtained from training and experience, as directed.

    21. Participate and successfully complete personal training requirements to maintain compliance with departmental standards, utilizing available training resources (e.g., computer, on-the-job, etc.), as required.

    22. Review staff reports to ensure accuracy, timeliness and thoroughness, utilizing training and experience, as required.

    23. Supervise protection details involving departmental staff to maintain safety and security, utilizing training and experience, as directed.

    24. Use reasonable force utilizing resources/tactics (e.g., personnel, weapons, etc.), as required by law and/or departmental policy.

    25. Adapt to unforeseen circumstances by responding to incidents in progress, to maintain safety/security, utilizing resources/tactics (e.g., personnel, weapons, etc.), as required by law and/or departmental policy.

    26. Supervise staff working in high crime areas during all hours to provide law enforcement services, utilizing training and experience, as needed.

    27. Deploy as a secondary responder to areas or situations of a dangerous or catastrophic nature, utilizing resources/tactics (e.g., personnel, weapons, allied agencies, etc.), as directed.

    31. Manage budgets (e.g., overtime, procurement, etc.), to ensure departmental compliance, utilizing computer-based programs, as directed.

    32. Manage equipment (e.g., vehicles, safety, office, etc.), to ensure departmental compliance, as directed.

    33. Supervise staff work schedules (e.g., leave, overtime, etc.), to ensure compliance with policy, utilizing computer-based programs, as required by policy.
