Task Statements:

1.         Clean rooms, fixtures, and equipment (e.g., locks, windows, doors, etc.) to ensure regulatory compliance using supplies and solutions, as needed.

2.         Train offender maintenance workers to maintain/repair building fixtures and equipment (e.g., locks, windows, doors, etc., ensure proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using screwdrivers, hammers, saws, etc., on-a-daily basis.

3.         Supervise offender maintenance workers to maintain/repair building fixtures and equipment (e.g., locks, windows, doors, etc.), ensure proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using screwdrivers, hammers, saws, etc., on-a-daily basis.

4.         Maintain/repair building fixtures and equipment (e.g., locks, windows, doors, etc.), to ensure proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using screwdrivers, hammers, saws, etc., on-a-daily basis.

5.         Train offender maintenance workers to make simple furniture and cabinet repairs, to ensure proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using screwdrivers, hammers, saws, etc., as needed.

10.       Complete simple tile and linoleum repairs to ensure proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using grout rake, glue, etc., as needed.

11.       Train offender maintenance workers in maintaining/repairing electrical fixtures (e.g., fuses, lighting, outlets, etc.), to ensure continual power source for daily operations using line tester, screw driver, ratchet set, ladder, etc., as needed.

12.       Supervise offender maintenance workers in maintaining/repairing electrical fixtures (e.g., fuses, lighting, outlets, etc.), to ensure continual power source for daily operations using e.g., line tester, screw driver, ratchet set, ladder, etc., as needed.

13.       Maintain/repair electrical fixtures (e.g., fuses, lighting, outlets, etc.), to ensure a continual power source for daily operations using line tester, screw driver, ratchet set, ladder, etc., as needed.

14.       Train offender maintenance workers to assist trades (e.g., plumbers, stationary engineers, maintenance mechanics, etc.) in maintaining/repairing sewage, water, cooling, and heating system lines and equipment, to ensure proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using wrenches, meters, lubricants, etc., as needed.

15.       Supervise offender maintenance workers in assisting trades (e.g., plumbers, stationary engineers, maintenance mechanics, etc.) in maintaining/repairing sewage, water, cooling, and heating system lines and equipment, to ensure proper working order, and maintain regulatory compliance using wrenches, meters, lubricants, etc., as needed

21.       Train offender maintenance workers in painting buildings and equipment (e.g., walls, doors, cabinets, etc.), to protect/maintain cleanable surfaces using brushes, sanders, putty knife, etc., as needed.

22.       Supervise offender maintenance workers in painting buildings and equipment (e.g., walls, doors, cabinets, etc.), to protect/maintain cleanable surfaces using brushes, sanders, putty knife, etc., as needed.

23.       Paint buildings and equipment (e.g., walls, doors, cabinets, etc.), to protect/maintain cleanable surfaces using brushes, sanders, putty knife, etc., as needed.

24.       Operate automotive equipment to transport materials to and from storage sites and keep facility supplied with furniture and cleaning supplies using dollies, utility cart, etc., as needed.

25.       Track supply levels and process supply requisition forms and/or purchase request documents utilizing appropriate forms and software, to maintain sufficient inventory using visual counts and inspections, as required.

26.       Inspect facility/premises for cleanliness and document maintenance work being performed, to ensure regulatory compliance using visual inspections and applicable documents/forms, on-a-daily basis.

27.       Maintain the security of work areas and materials to ensure institutional/facility safety and maintain California Code of Regulations (CCR) and Title 15 compliance using searches, inspections, and performing inventory as required.

28.       Make written reports of maintenance work completed to keep supervisors and coworkers apprised using applicable reporting documents and verbal communication, on-a daily basis.

29.       Supervise the conduct of offender maintenance workers to maintain safety, security, and order on-daily basis.

30.       Maintain safety and security in the institution by preventing escapes and injury by offenders to themselves, other or to property to ensure order and that emergency protocols are met.

31.       Search offenders, youthful offenders, residents, and/or patients for contraband, such as weapons or illegal drugs to maintain safety and security using Departmental policies and procedures, as required.

32.       Prepare work order request documents to report deficiencies identified through routine inspection, address issues, and ensure regulatory compliance using proper documentation, as needed.

33.       Maintain the security of tools and keys to ensure institutional/facility safety and maintain California Code of Regulations (CCR) and Title 15 compliance using searches, inspections, and performing inventory on-a-daily basis or as needed.

34.       Train offender maintenance workers performing cleaning, sanitizing, painting, repairing, etc., duties to ensure cleanliness/proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using applicable procedural knowledge and supervisory skills, on-a-daily basis.

35.       Supervise offender maintenance workers performing cleaning, sanitizing, painting, repairing, etc., duties to ensure cleanliness/proper working order and maintain regulatory compliance using applicable procedural knowledge and supervisory skills, on-a-daily basis.

36.       Train offender workers in the proper handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous materials, solvents, paints, and cleaning solutions to maintain a safe/sanitary workplace and ensure regulatory compliance using supervisory skills and CCR and Title 22, as required.
