CalHHS Office of Youth and Community Restoration is Hiring

The Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR) operates within the California Health & Human Services (CalHHS) Agency. Supporting the transition of justice involved youth being served in local communities, the OYCR will promote a youth continuum of services that are trauma responsive and culturally informed, using public health approaches that support positive youth development, build the capacity of community-based approaches, and reduce the justice involvement of youth. The OYCR is seeking to fill two positions:

  • Ombudsperson: Will work to receive, investigate, and seek to resolve complaints from youth, families, staff, and others about harmful conditions or practices, violations of laws and regulations governing facilities, and circumstances presenting an emergency situation in the juvenile justice system. The final filing date is July 29, 2022.
  • Staff Services Manager II (Supervisory): Will provide planning, direction and leadership within the Division of the Ombudsperson. The final filing date is July 22, 2022.
  • Chief Health Policy Officer: Will provide leadership direction and policy implementation strategies to improve behavioral, mental, and physical health regarding youth in the juvenile justice system. The final filing date is August 12, 2022.
  • Chief Technical Assistance Officer: Will assist OYCR in its mandate to provide expertise and technical assistance to the counties when requested for the entire juvenile justice continuum. The final filing date is October 3, 2022.
