Transitional housing sees graduation

Immanuel House Institute of Higher Learning’s transitional housing program spent over a year collaborating with the Division of Rehabilitative Programs and the Division of Adult Parole Operations.

The transitional housing program culminated with 24 graduating in a special ceremony.

The late-May event was held at the Bob Glass gymnasium in Perris.

Agent Lynn A. Noonchester was the master of ceremonies and Perris Mayor Michael Vargas offered words of encouragement. Other speakers included class valedictorian Jerry Martinez and distinguished class representative Onofre Varela.

Employment Specialist Roland Edwards, Riverside City Council representative Miguel Lujano, and Brent Robinson, the District Office Director for Kamala Harris, also spoke.

The keynote speaker was Southern Region Chief Deputy Regional Parole Administrator Jason Johnson.

In all, 24 long-term offenders successfully graduated from the program.
