The new staff fitness center has seen heavy use at the Stockton Division of Juvenile Justice complex since opening in June.

“We had a good turnout from all locations within Northern California Youth Correctional Complex (O.H. Close, N.A. Chaderjian and Central). Brenda Jackson, Youth Incentive Coordinator, put together an amazing healthy food spread and great decorations for the grand opening,” said Ray Knight, treatment team supervisor.
This new fitness center was named The Healthy Hideaway as it is centrally located in the complex and available to all staff.
“Staff enjoyed trying out the equipment and learning about fitness. The high-tech massage chair was definitely the hit of the day,” Knight said.
Since the official opening, staff have been regularly utilizing the fitness center.
Superintendent Bridges was also a great support through the entire revitalization process of the previously unused space. She said she supports staff wellness and the future well-being of all the staff.
