The local Elks Lodge #1918 hosted the annual Peace Officer of the Year Banquet in Madera where they honored two CDCR peace officers. The Aug. 22 event recognized the law enforcement agencies from the surrounding communities in of Madera and Chowchilla.
This year Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) had several qualified candidates who were nominated by their peers or supervisors. The selection process was tight and very competitive.
This year’s 2019 Peace Officer of the Year, from CCWF, was Sgt. Concepcion Segoviano, and from Valley State Prison was Correctional Officer F. Sandoval.
