Chris Carnes, Correctional Supervising Cook, passed away November 23, 2019.
He began his CDCR career in April 2017 at High Desert State Prison as a Correctional Supervising Cook.
He transferred to Folsom State Prison in February 2018.
Prior to working at CDCR, Carnes spent nine years as a supervising cook for CalTrans.
According to his family, he enjoyed his time at CDCR teaching culinary skills to others.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
He was laid to rest at Sylvan Cemetery in Citrus Heights in December 2019.
