
Gerald “Jerry” Escalera, retired correctional officer, passed away Nov. 27, 2019.
Escalera began his correctional career in January 2000. After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, he reported to Corcoran State Prison.
He retired in March 2018.
“Jerry worked as a Correctional Officer for 18 years, and he absolutely loved working with some of the best people he had known,” according to his family. “Jerry created lasting friendships with many of his fellow officers due to his kind-heart and passion for his work.”
He is survived by his wife of 41 years and one daughter as well as two grandsons.
