Avenal State Prison raised $1,282 with a bake sale fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics of Northern California. The March 2 event featured baked goods, pastries, and coffee.

This marks the second in a series of fundraisers the institution will be doing leading up to the 2021 Polar Plunge taking place at Millerton Lake in April.

Social distancing and COVID-19 protocol guidelines were observed.

The first event, a burrito sale, raised $1,000, bringing their two-event total to $2,282. Read more about the first event at https://www.cdcr.ca.gov/insidecdcr/2021/02/22/avenal-prison-staff-raises-1000-for-special-olympics/.
