Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) management staff hosted their annual Employee Appreciation Day in mid-July.

“This event has become a tradition here at CVSP. We want our staff to know we care and appreciate all their hard work, especially working through the COVID-19 pandemic. I could not be more pleased with our staff,” said Warden David Holbrook.

Grills were positioned by the front entrance building for managers to barbecue over 740 cheeseburgers. Management not only cooked, but also placed the food into containers. They also included a variety of chips, cookies and condiments. Representatives from the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA) delivered meals to staff on all five facilities.

This process was completed on all three watches and every staff member was offered a hot meal as they walked through the front entrance building. Chief Deputy Warden, Christopher Pierce, Warden, David Holbrook, and Chief Executive Officer, Bryttiney Lincoln, greeted and ensured everyone was offered a meal. Some employees also won door prizes.

A special thank you to the local CCSO, CCPOA and the CVSP Employee’s Association. These generous organizations came together to make this event happen.
