CDCR honors outstanding recruitment teams

CDCR Institution Recruitment Teams continue to dedicate time and support to the Correctional Officer hiring efforts of the Department.

The need for new applicants to fill open positions throughout the state drives recruitment efforts year round.

Members of CDCR recruitment teams noted below received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Office of Peace Officer Selection (OPOS) Chief Robert Calderon, along with a letter of recognition.

“Each recipient showed a willingness to attend events, adapt to the challenges with virtual events, and demonstrated leadership along with extensive knowledge about the department to share with potential applicants,” said OPOS Chief Calderon.

  • Lieutenant Todd Thomas, CIM, supports all recruitment initiatives with knowledge and enthusiasm, including making himself available to provide input on recruitment matters when requested.
  • Lieutenant David Scheiffele, CMC, was very instrumental in coordinating and staffing one of the largest events attended this year, the Mid-State Fair.
  • Sergeant Jamesha Graves, SQ, ensures that many events, including virtual assignments, in the Northern Region have coverage with talented recruiters to represent CDCR.
  • Staff Services Manager I Roxanne Gonzalez, LAC, leads the Recruitment Team with positive energy and exceptional efforts to cover multiple recruitment events throughout the year.

OPOS invites all CDCR staff to be a recruiter by sharing the benefits and opportunities available with a career as a Correctional Officer.
