Avenal Prison thanks staff for hard work and dedication every day, but a recent tri-tip sandwich lunch and multiple vendors was special.
The Employee Action Committee (EAC), with donations from the Avenal State Prison Executive Team and other prison groups, honored staff. To show thanks to staff, all three Avenal Prison watches were provided a lunch. Special guests included Avenal Mayor Alvaro Preciado, Avenal City Manager Antony Lopez, and the Avenal Chief of Police Rusty Stivers.

- and The Cupcake Route.
The EAC and Executive Team prepared the lunches with more than 300 pounds of tri-tip. Working the barbecue were Justin Nugent, Warehouse Manager II, and Lawrence Mendoza, Canteen Manager II.
Overall, the event was well-received.
All Covid-19 protocols were followed by staff and vendors during the event.
