PVSP donates art, bikes for community event fundraiser

SVSP donated bicycles and framed artwork to an auction to raise funds for local events.

Marking their 111th year of serving area businesses, the Coalinga Chamber of Commerce received a donation of framed art and bikes from Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) for their auction.

Proceeds from the auction help fund community events and activities, so prison leadership saw it as a win-win.

Supporting their mission to assist the community, acting PVSP Warden Ron Godwin and Jeanette Bragg, Community Resource Manager, knew the donated art and bikes showcased the prison’s rehabilitative work.

The auction was part of the chamber’s annual award dinner, recognizing Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, First Responder of the Year, and Business of the Year.

“Pulling off an event of this magnitude, one worthy of the businesses and citizens we serve, takes the assistance of many,” wrote Scott Netherton, Executive Director, Coalinga Chamber of Commerce.  “We cannot possibly pull this off on our own. I want to sincerely express our appreciation.”
