During Victims Week, fundraisers net $2,500 for nonprofit groups

Two fundraisers held at OH Close Youth Correctional Facility (OHC) netted more than $2,500 to help victims of crime. Held in conjunction with National Crime Victims Rights Week in April, two food sales generated the funds.

Conflict Resolution Team member Jonathan Heerema and Senior Youth Correctional Counselor Wilford Francisco organized both events. The fundraisers included an Asian fast food sale netting $1,732 and a doughnut sale raising $840.

The funds will be deposited into the Victims Fund Account at OHC. Traditionally, proceeds are donated to suitable San Joaquin County nonprofit organizations.
