David Haynes, a retired correctional sergeant, passed away May 3, 2022.
He began his CDCR career as a cadet at the Academy in January 1994. After graduating, he reported to Pelican Bay State Prison.
In September 2001, Haynes promoted to sergeant.
He remained at Pelican Bay until retiring in late December 2016.
“Many of us knew David both personally and professionally. He was a good friend, a good man and a good human being. David will be missed. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and loved ones,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
