North Kern State Prison (NKSP) staff are mourning the death of Correctional Officer John Burk who passed away June 16, 2022.
Burk began his CDCR career in December 2015 at the Basic Correctional Officer Academy in Galt.
After graduating, he reported to San Quentin State Prison as a Correctional Officer. Burk transferred to NKSP in April 2017, where he remained until his passing.
“John will be greatly missed by all who worked with him. Please keep the Burk family in your thoughts and prayers,” according to a statement issued by NKSP.
